A smaller, more intimate landscape... a gentle invitation into the scene. Rolling hills soften into one another, while clusters of trees rise and scatter across the foreground, each one slightly distinct, loosely held together through colour and rhythm.
The palette leans warm and playful… pink skies, soft greens, and earthy ochres layered through the land. There’s a looseness to the mark-making here, with thicker, textured passages sitting alongside flatter areas, giving the surface a sense of movement and light.
The trees become the quiet focal point... highly abstracted and almost conversational in their placement, drawing the eye across the painting and into its depth.
