An original landscape, painted especially for your home.
A Carmen King commission is an entirely original painting created for your space, in the colours, scale and feeling you want to live with.
You’ll have the opportunity to choose the size, orientation and broad colour direction, while leaving room for Carmen’s distinctive landscapes, expressive trees and layered marks to unfold naturally.
Rather than reproducing an existing painting or copying a photograph exactly, each commission becomes its own luminous landscape... somewhere between a place remembered and somewhere you’d love to find.
Only a small number of commissions are accepted at a time.

What is included
Every landscape commission includes:
- An entirely original Carmen King painting
- Your choice of portrait or landscape orientation
- Consultation around palette, scale and placement
- Progress updates while your artwork is being created
- Carmen’s signature and a certificate of authenticity
- Thoughtful preparation for safe delivery anywhere in the world
Framing and delivery
Within Australia, your painting will be finished in a handmade flooded gum floating frame and delivery is complimentary. Alternative framing finishes are also available by request.
International collectors: Due to the size and care required when shipping large original artworks, commissions are delivered outside Australia as rolled canvas rather than framed. They are carefully removed from their stretcher and floating frame, securely rolled and protected for worldwide delivery. Once it arrives, your painting can be professionally stretched and framed locally by a framer of your choice.
How it works
1. Reserve your commission
Choose your preferred size and pay the 50% deposit to secure your place.
2. Tell me about your space
After booking, you’ll be invited to send photographs and measurements of your wall, along with any colours, landscapes or previous paintings you’re especially drawn to.
3. Your painting begins
Carmen will develop an original composition in her signature style, guided by your space and preferences without replicating an existing artwork.
4. See it come together
You’ll receive thoughtful updates as the painting develops and before it is sent for framing.
5. Final payment and delivery
The remaining 50% is payable once the painting is complete and approved, before framing and delivery.
A note on the creative process
Part of commissioning an artist is allowing something new to emerge.
Your preferences will guide the scale, orientation and overall palette, but the final composition and individual details remain part of Carmen’s creative process. This ensures your painting feels personal while remaining unmistakably part of her broader body of work.
If you would like help choosing a size, send through a photograph of your wall and its measurements. Carmen will be very happy to recommend the proportion that will look most beautiful in your space.
