I’m a little bit obsessed with the sky in this painting. It’s dreamy and foggy and deep and built through layer after layer until it feels as though it’s so thick you could hold your hand in front of your face and it would disappear.
The olives, creams and apricots make it one of the more neutral paintings in ‘Brumbies,’ but I’m in love with the the movement of the horses, thick texture through the trees and the area of spotlight-ed sun the lands on the horses in the middle.
It feels peaceful, playful and a little whimsical.
