A lone white horse stands in the valley, small and still against a rich landscape that feels deeply familiar. The hills roll in layers… deep olive and brown at the base, a warm golden ridge rising behind, then a soft dusty pink hill beyond that. A small cluster of trees sits up on the right, colourful and expressive.
The brushwork is layered and warm… the foreground is thick and textural in deep greens and earth tones, while the hills behind are smoother, built up in broad horizontal sweeps. The white horse is textural and luminous against the dark ground. Oil pastel flickers through the golden ridge and the trees, giving it a layered depth.
Includes a Certificate of Authenticity from the National Registry of Australian Art and Artists (NRAAA).
