A white horse grazes on a dark ridge, head down, completely at ease… luminescent pink rising behind like a heat haze or a memory. A gum tree leans in from the left, loose and expressive. The green sweeps down in a bold arc, the sky above soft lilac and blue. The colours here are heightened, not quite real, not quite not.
The brushwork is confident and sweeping… the green hill carved out in broad directional strokes, the pink behind built up in thick vertical layers. The white horse is textural and luminous. Oil pastel shimmers through the tree and the ridge, warm against the cool of the sky.
Includes a Certificate of Authenticity from the National Registry of Australian Art and Artists (NRAAA).
