Trees gathered like old friends, loose and expressive, each one distinct. There are more along the ridge behind, a burst of luminescent pink pushing in from the bottom right. The sky is wide and calm in juxtaposition to the movement of the land beneath.
The trees are built up in thick, loaded marks, the golden earth swept in broad warm strokes, the dark ridge solid behind. Oil pastel flickers in dusty mauve through the tree trunks, alive against the gold. The whole painting hums with energy. Joyful and unrestrained, the most celebratory in the series.
