Built through richly layered acrylic and oil pastel, the trees are formed with expressive, dimensional mark-making, their trunks and foliage standing boldly against the open landscape. The surface is alive with movement, catching light across raised passages and palette-knife textures.
Like the trees themselves, 'this is where I stand' is about being unapologetically oneself.
